Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Objectivity in media reporting is crucial in building trust, particularly when addressing sensitive issues such as corruption. In Sokoto North Local Government, where corruption has significant social and economic impacts, the role of print media in providing unbiased and accurate information is vital. Public perception of media objectivity influences the credibility and impact of corruption-related reporting. Recent research highlights that a lack of objectivity, whether real or perceived, can diminish public trust and engagement with anti-corruption efforts (Abdullahi & Usman, 2024).
